Charlie Brown Christmas

Merry Christmas  2006 and Happy New Year 2007!

Big changes and moves for the Philadelphia Virginia Loebig's this year!

Brian accepted a new position with Lutheran Family Services of Virginia as Chief Services Officer in September and just last week we purchased a 4 bedroom town home in Southwest Roanoke.

Our new address is 3510 Stonehenge Square, Roanoke, VA 24018.  Brian's wonderful work colleague, Holly Weaver, has helped us with our transition to VA and even found us this new home right next door to her house!  New phone number coming soon, but you can always contact us by email though: brian@loebigink.com, and  nicole@loebigink.com

The kids have been getting acclimated to the Blueridge Parkway which has beautiful mountain overlooks, trails and parks along its 470 mile course.  View a webpage of our most recent Blueridge trek here!

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year with Brad and MariaBrian's sister, Maria and her pro-bass playing fiancé Brad Haberle at his sisters home in PA.

< This photo is of Maria and Brad washing dishes after the Thanksgiving party.  It's been rumored that Gabriel may be the wedding ring bearer and Brian will be a groomsman. Brian and Brad had a good time getting acquainted on a 16-hour round trip from Philly to Roanoke moving the remaining furniture on the final move to VA.

Nicole and GabrielNicole has been busy jetting around the country this year with a midwifery conference in Marco Island, Florida, a friends televised "Style Network" wedding in Orlando and several trips back and forth to Philadelphia.  Nicole and Savannah are committed to using their season tickets to the Philadelphia Ballet.  Savannah even got an autographied ballet slipper from one of Brian's former co-workers at Liberty Lutheran Services, Yvette Bradford.  (Thanks Yvette!)

The photo to the right is Nicole and Gabriel kicking back after the Thanksgiving dinner.  Nicole's special request gift this year was an official NFL Green Bay Packer ladies wrist watch.  Santa also delivered other packer paraphernalia to adorn the walls of our new music and rec room.

Brian has been busy learning the ropes Brian and Brad at Lutheran Family Services of VA, and has taken business trips to Phoenix and New Orleans with new work colleagues, Jan Tobias and Justine Waits.

Brian and the kids have wasted no time getting to know their new environs with weekend trips to Smith Mountain Lake, Discovery Park, Booker T. Washington National Monument, the Roanoke Star, the Blueridge Parkway, Natural Bridge and Floyd, VA, home of County Sales Records and live bluegrass in the streets every Friday night.  The photo to the left is Brian and Brad jamming after Thanksgiving dinner.  Speaking of music, the 5th Street Coffeehouse is now in the capable hands of a new manager, Monica McIntyre.  If you're in Philly make sure you show your support and attend a show! www.5thstcoffeehouse.org

Cave Spring Middle SchoolSavannah, age 12, is in 7th grade and making new friends at Cave Spring Middle school while continuing to nurture her Philadelphia friendships with weekly emails and bi-monthly weekend trips with Mom to the Philadelphia Ballet.  Savannah also joined the drama club at her new school this year and won a part in the musical "Cinderella and the Glass Slipper."  Savannah's special request from Santa this year was a Nintendo DS Lite.

Samuel, age 9, is also making fast friends at his school, Clearbrook Elementary XPV and recently performed as a solo artist in the winter choral concert, "The Big Chill."  He was also selected by his class to offer their new choir director, Miss Bell, a bouquet of roses and a thank you message at the end of the concert from the full choir.  Samuel's favorite gift this year was an Xtreme Performance Vehicle which is remote controlled and competes on land, air and water.

Gabriel is 4 years old and is enjoying his new day care, Honey Tree Learning Center.  He has also developed an affinity for soccer and has been elevated to the status of lead ball stealer among his siblings.  His favorite themed gifts and movie this year is Cars with Lightening McQueen.  Here is a sound clip of Gabriel singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

That's the annual Loebig update.  May God bless you in the coming new year as she continues to bless us each and every day.

Love and Kindness,

Brian, Nicole, Savannah, Samuel, Gabriel and Libra (poodle)
