Meet Our Lead Technical SEO Account Manager – Dan Parrington
Dan Parrington is our Schema Markup Developer and focuses on the technical side of SEO for Loebig Ink. “In the mists of the dawn of time – somewhere close to fifteen years ago,” Dan jokes, he met Brian Loebig on LinkedIn. Dan had been marketing his emergent web design and development skillset when Brian submitted his Ink Blog for feedback and the two began communicating. In time their conversations became more frequent until they were working together and having a really good time in the process. These were the early days of Loebig Ink and Dan has come and gone a couple times over the years. In the last few years he has been a consistent member of the team and is happy that Brian has made him feel at home.
One of Dan’s favorite things about his current work with Loebig Ink is being able to specialize. He finds multitasking to be a real challenge, especially when the multiple tasks are also in multiple disciplines. He appreciates being able to collaborate with others where each has their own focus while he is able to hone in on his niche. Of finding his place on the Loebig team he says, “I love running into something and knowing just exactly to whom I should turn – and I love being just the right guy to help my teammates with my own specializations.”
While Dan loves being the go-to team member for all things schema, he also has fond memories of all the web design he did during earlier stints of working with Brian. He did a great deal of data management and administrative work for projects such as transcribing Brian’s Criminal Thinking Habits worksheets and teaching material for use as downloadable PDFs on the Criminal Thinking website. “I remember finding the material fascinating and surprisingly relevant beyond just the rehabilitation paradigm,” he recalls.
When he’s not busy implementing schema or chasing down sundry technical SEO issues, Dan pursues his number one pastime – books. You’ll see them co-starring in the background of every video call he joins. He collects them and even reads them on occasion. Another more recent interest is caring for cats. He and Aura Parrington currently share their Ontario home with six furry overlords.
“I’m a Canadian – full of wicked intentions and economic tomfoolery! Nobody on the team seems to realize what a villain I am, though. Actually, I don’t think I’m really such a bad guy, once you get past the nefarious beavers, toques and maple syrup. Aura’s a Canadian, too, which is how I met her. There are only a few of us up here, after all,” he says wryly.
On life intentions, Dan shares, “I want to do my best work and make a comfortable living. I want to be challenged professionally and have time left over to snuggle up with a book. And, let’s face it, probably also a cat.”
